The Best Disinfectant
Our mouths are quite dirty as many of us might
already know and we as humans have been in a never-ending battle to tame the microbes and other nasty stuff that live among our teeth. Many dentists use hydrogen peroxide as a teeth whitening agent because it has the ability to whiten teeth under high concentrations. This is not risk free though, there is a certain safe limit to the amount of hydrogen peroxide that can be used safely for an oxidizing agent, it is a strong chemical that can damage living tissue. Under the right concentrations (which is actually a very small amount, say 3% solutions of the chemical) it has the ability to react with living tissue killing all harmful bacteria and thoroughly disinfecting your teeth.
Wounds tend to stop bleeding immediately upon contact which would be why dentists use it as an all-around gargle before and after procedures. This lowly chemical has wondrous properties when it comes to treating wounds may it be in your mouth or out. It is also, still one of the safest disinfectants in the world that produces oxygen and water as it breaks down. Bad-breath and other dental diseases can be remedies with regular gargling by diluting medical hydrogen peroxide, diluted at a ratio of one to four parts water. It disinfects and may even help whiten your teeth, but ask your dentist to be sure you aren’t sensitive to the solution.
